Talitha Kumi Guest House is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:
Position Title:General Cleaner
Location: Beit Jala
Starting Date: 1stAugust 2016
Main Objective:
Provides services to Guests visiting the Guest House and Carries out and Maintains high cleanliness standards
General Cleaner Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
Care for children and/or elderly persons by overseeing their activities,
Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware.
Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
Remove debris from driveways, entrance and public area around the Guest House
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items, when required
Help Restaurant Staff with Restaurant and Cafeteria Service and Some Light Kitchen Duties
Sort, count, and mark clean linens, and store them in linen closets.
Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
Prepare rooms for meetings, and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions.
Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
Advise on shortages of household supplies to keep housekeeping stocked, and keep waste to minimum.
Hang draperies, and dust window blinds.
Advice on repair services required to Manager.
Replace light bulbs.
Follow all instructions given by Manager and attend work on time
Answer telephones and greet guests
Deliver ironing boards, baby cribs, and extra beds to guests' rooms.
Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses.
Carry out other jobs as requested by Guest House Manager
Qualifications:
• Degree in a Related field is preferable.
• At least two years of experience in a similar position.
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment.
• Excellent Arabic and English skills speaking, reading and writing, German is preferable.
